Outdoor and Play were recommended to the head teacher by Mr Roger Scales, Senior Landscape Architect at Bradford Council. The school were looking to provide a variety of activities for children in foundation, and Key stages one and two. Mr Quartermain, the head teacher, had already consulted with a number of play companies.

Menston Pre-school - July 2007
To transform their cramped 10 metre long corridor-like playground, squeezed between Menston Library and the local bowling green. Used as a local thoroughfare as well as a play area, it had an uneven surface and no fixed outdoor play facilities. Following active fundraising, Menston Pre-school raised a budget of £8,000 for the playground's redevelopment.

Norristhorpe Junior & Infant School - June 2007
Outdoor & Play had previously installed a Ball Wall at the school and were invited to re-design the playground to improve the outdoor environment and facilities of the school. One of the main priorities was to leave as much open space as possible for playtimes and for access. Secondly the school required the creation of a quiet area for children which could double as an area of seating and shelter for parents.

Cavell House had a small budget to develop an outdoor play area for the centre in a very limited space. The play area needed to suit the very different play needs of this age range and allow the children to spend more time learning outdoors.

Emley First School - January 2005
To create a completely new playground at the back of the school, which would extend from the building into the open field beyond .The new play area needed to be creative and challenging for the children, providing them with a variety of activity and play opportunities and being easy to supervise. Whilst providing secure boundary fencing, it was also important that the open feel and aspect of the grounds be maintained and that the whole look was sympathetic to the rural setting.
